Our Services

We have been providing the highest quality neuropsychological and psychological services to support our clients to reach their goals for over 10 years. We believe that every individual deserves an exceptional quality service that follows best practice guidelines and feels right for them. We are driven by our values of putting people first, respecting individual wishes and being compassionate in all that we do.

Neuropsychological Therapy

Clarity Psychologists are highly experienced in supporting individuals with neurological injuries or illness, to adapt and achieve their goals as part of rehabilitation. Working with cognitive, emotional and behavioural difficulties, we use in depth understanding of the brain and mind to support recovery.

We pride ourselves on working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams that often include speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and physiotherapists. Working closely and respectfully with our colleagues we aim to ensure each client receives integrated support whether this is within inpatient, community or other settings.

Psychological Therapy

We offer a range of evidence based talking therapies to help individuals understand their experiences and work towards recovery. At the heart of all our talking therapies is a commitment to developing compassionate relationships with our clients.

Finding the right approach and model of talking therapy that works for the individual, is something that is explored during the assessment process. Some models of therapy focus on how patterns of thinking can affect the way that we feel and respond to certain situations. Other models of therapy may offer space to explore how certain experiences have impacted on a person's mental wellbeing, so that it can be processed as part of recovery. Using our skills and experience we often tailor an integrated approach, drawing on different models that works best for the individual.

Medicolegal

Clarity Psychology consultants combine their depth of knowledge with a broad range of experience in both NHS and private sector to provide high quality expert witness assessments and reports. Our consultants have received recognised expert witness training, to ensure our practice is fully compliant with the relevant law.

All our reports are based on detailed assessments that use validated tests and best practice guidelines to deliver clear opinions that answer all questions posed from instruction. We also have extensive experience in offering mental capacity assessments of the highest standard for a range of purposes.

Autism Assessment & Support

We provide high quality autism assessments for children, young people and adults using ‘gold standard’ tools (e.g., ADI, 3di, ADOS 2). All of our assessments are compliant with NICE guidelines, which propose multiple recommendations regarding high quality assessments, including the use of a multidisciplinary team, observations across different settings & consideration of differential diagnosis.

During a free consultation with a Clinical Psychologist, we will speak to you about your requirements and if appropriate consider differential diagnosis with you. It is possible that further assessment is not indicated. However, if assessment is required then we will develop an assessment plan with you. Assessments can include taking a detailed developmental history, gathering information from school, an observation within school, a cognitive assessment, Speech and Language Therapy assessment and the ADOS-2.

We can start the assessment within 2-4 weeks of your first contact with us and will guide you through every step of the process. The exact cost of the assessment will depend on which components are required to reach a conclusion in relation to diagnosis. This will be discussed with you following the initial consultation. Team Consultation & Formulation (Cognitive Analytic Therapy Model)

CAT Consultation offers opportunity for the MDT to come together and to understand the many unique relational experiences and complexities that present in this field, including how these can interact and influence treatment outcome.

The model of ‘CAT Consultation in Complex Care and Neurorehabilitation’ can be understood as three phases: 1) Reformulation 2) Recognition 3) Revision.

Throughout each phase of this work, the team are working collaboratively with the facilitating therapist to understand both the individual challenges and team difficulties that are present. The facilitator will begin to map, by reformulating the familiar patterns/dynamics that are being described, towards providing the team with a complete ‘map’ (Sequential Diagrammatic Reformulation). The map is a central tool, developed in collaboration with the team members. It is used to help the team then ‘recognise’ and ‘revise’ certain patterns and procedures that they identified as (often unknowingly) keeping them stuck.

The focus is towards developing ‘exits’ from those patterns, which can often include new and different ways of approaching the work, whilst harnessing the current expertise of the individual clinicians. CAT consultation and the tools developed aim to facilitate the MDT journey, complimenting their current skills set long after the consultation phases end. It is a way of underpinning a relationally informed and integrated approach, capturing both the subjective and objective nature of healthcare, with the client’s goals at centre.
