Dr Steven Mahan is a Registered Clinical Psychologist with professional experience in many varied areas of Clinical Psychology, including experience in the fields of: Adult and Child Neuropsychology, Head Injury Therapy, Health Psychology, Adult Mental Health, Child and Adolescent Mental Health, and Learning Disabilities. Steven provides psychological therapy in the South West with clinics in Bristol and the surrounding area. He currently works as part of the Neuropsychology team within the Head Injury Therapy Unit, North Bristol NHS Trust, where he treats adults with long-term psychological and physical difficulties following acquired brain injuries, supporting patients and their families to adjust to their injuries.
Steven has a special interest in long-term, complex health conditions, medically unexplained symptoms and their associated mental health difficulties. He also has a special interest in working with those with relationship difficulties. At the core of Steven’s therapeutic style is tailoring psychological therapy to each client’s unique needs, presentations, abilities, and experiences; to create a safe and welcoming space that facilitates positive and meaningful change. He has a proven ability to work with individuals, couples, and families to facilitate positive change.
