Dr Michelle O'Keeffe is a Registered Clinical Psychologist with professional experience in a variety of areas, including: Weight Management, Eating Disorders, Health Psychology, Learning Disabilities, Child and Adolescent Mental Health and Adult Mental Health.
Michelle works in the South West and provides psychological therapy in Bristol and the surrounding areas. She currently works in a Health Psychology Team in the North Bristol Trust. In this capacity she supports clients with mental health issues and long term health conditions. She also treats clients with eating disorders as well as clients with weight management issues.
Michelle has experience with a range of evidence based psychological therapies, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Schema Therapy, Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) for challenging behaviour and Mindfulness. Michelle has completed training in Enhanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy for Eating Disorders (CBT-E) which is the leading evidence based treatment for eating disorders.
She has experience working with individuals, couples and families. Michelle believes that the most important component of therapy is the relationship between the therapist and client. As such, she strives to provide clients with a safe and trusting relationship so they can feel secure and supported while exploring and addressing their personal difficulties. Michelle works in collaboration with her clients and makes sure that interventions are tailored to the needs and goals of the individual.
