Dr Lisa Logue

Dr Lisa Logue is a Highly Specialist Clinical Neuropsychologist and North East Regional Lead of Clarity Psychology. Following her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Lisa completed further specialist training in Neuropsychology and is on the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists (SRCN). She has experience of working within the fields of neuro-rehabilitation, neuro-psychiatry and neurobehaviour, offering assessment and intervention of complex needs, within inpatient and community settings.

Lisa has experience of integrating and drawing upon a wide range of evidence based approaches to ensure that goals are individually tailored, realistic and meaningful to the needs of her clients. A core value in Lisa’s approach is to work side by side with clients, to explore and understand difficulties together using psychological concepts and ideas which are accessible.

Dr Ben Marram

Dr Ben Marram is an experienced Consultant Clinical Neuropsychologist and Chartered Occupational Psychologist specialising in neuropsychological assessment and rehabilitation. He is on the Specialist Register for Clinical Neuropsychologists (SRCN), the gold standard for registration for clinicians practicing in neuropsychology. His unique experience and skills as an Occupational Psychologist allows him to consider wider issues such as staff wellbeing, inter-disciplinary working and vocational rehabilitation. Based in the North East of England he works with individuals, families and multi-disciplinary teams throughout the region.

Ben values building relationships with people where authenticity, psychological safety, trust, hope and compassion are at the heart of everything they do. As an Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) advocate and practitioner, his hope is to cultivate skills, knowledge and experience of psychological flexibility in all of his relationships and in service of providing exceptional, person-centred and timely care, where it matters most.

Dr Sarah Hopper

Sarah is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist who has extensive experience of working with complex mental health and neuropsychological presentations in the NHS and more recently in independent practice. She has specialist knowledge, skills and experience in the field of neuropsychological assessment, formulation and intervention, particularly in relation to acquired brain injury and dementia (including young onset dementia). Sarah is passionate about ensuring individuals are able to access appropriate assessments and interventions for their needs at the time they need it.

Sarah enjoys working with individuals and teams to develop a shared understanding of difficulties, using creative approaches that tailor each assessment and intervention to individual needs. Sarah's primary motivation in her work is to reduce psychological distress, and support people on a journey of recovery to help them achieve greater fulfilment in life.

In addition to the strong clinical background in neuropsychology, specialist interests also include mental capacity assessment and working psychologically with teams.

Sarah has additional training in clinical neuropsychology having completed a post graduate diploma in clinical neuropsychology at the University of Nottingham (2013).

Dr Tom Laverick

Tom has extensive experience in working with children and young people in both NHS and independent practice, where he has occupied roles such as Clinical Lead within a specialist nhs autism assessment service. Tom has also worked with adults experiencing moderate to severe mental health difficulties and he has an ongoing interest with the treatment of PTSD. Tom is trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and has Full Accreditation with the British Association for Behavioural & Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), as well as being trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy.

Tom is the Clinical Lead for the Clarity Autism service and has completed training in the use of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2), as well as the developmental, dimensional, and diagnostic interview (3di).

Tom is passionate about conducting research in his field; supervising ongoing autism based research (e.g., autism and camouflaging / masking) and publishing research findings to advance practice e.g., 'Epilepsy and Accelerated Long-Term Forgetting' with Professor Alan Baddeley. His research skills, knowledge and expertise therefore allow him to deliver the highest standard of clinical work.

Dr Oliver Bekarma

Dr Oliver Bekarma is a Consultant Clinical Psychologist based in County Durham. Oli has extensive experience of working with complex psychological and neurological conditions across the lifespan and care settings. He is especially interested in neuropsychology, and has completed a post-doctoral diploma in Applied Neuropsychology (University of Glasgow). He contributes to post-graduate teaching on clinically relevant programmes at Teesside University and Durham University.

Oli’s warm, empathic and personable approach enables him to build effective therapeutic relationships with individuals and teams in a timely fashion, and he is recognised for providing high quality assessments, reports and interventions tailored to the needs of clients. Central to Oli’s practice is his desire to work with people to bring about positive change and enhanced quality of life.

Dr Laura-Jayne Carter

Dr Laura-Jayne Carter is a Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist both within NHS and Clarity Psychology. Passionate about working in neurobehaviour, neurodegenerative conditions and neurorehabilitation, she has completed further specialist training in neuropsychology.

Working with all age groups, Laura-Jayne has wide ranging experience in psychological therapy, neuropsychology and mental capacity assessment. She has specialist interests in working with teams and systems, children and families, adult autism, psychological adjustment and trauma, and loss.

Laura-Jayne contributes teaching to the Teesside University doctoral programme and has achieved several publications and conference presentations. Always recovery focused, she enjoys working creatively to support individuals, families and teams to meet their therapeutic goals.

Dr Geoff Hill

Dr Geoff Hill has a depth of broad neuropsychological knowledge and skills and can provide cognitive assessment, and capacity assessment, with particular strength as a treating clinician assisting clients with long term acquired neurological conditions to achieve their goals. Geoff specialises in applying his knowledge and skills to develop therapeutic relationships in complex medicolegal cases wherein the client finds it difficult to engage therapeutically.

Although trained in diverse technologies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Motivational Interviewing, Geoff's neuropsychological therapy approach is grounded in Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Geoff is currently involved with innovative research programmes developing the science behind the application of ACT to assist those with acquired neurological conditions. He has authored a number of ACT publications in this context such as those related to the ACT group protocol 'Living Well with Neurological Conditions’.

Above all else, Geoff provides a calm, kind, and accepting approach to his clients and their families, and strives towards the highest standards of quality and professionalism in all areas of his work."

Dr Luke Boothroyd

Luke is a Principal Clinical Psychologist specialising in Neuropsychology. He provides specialist neuropsychological assessment, therapy and rehabilitation to people in Yorkshire with a wide range of neurological conditions, both within an outpatient setting and within a Regional Neurorehabilitation Unit. He has completed further specialist training in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Glasgow. Luke has also previously worked in older people’s services providing neuropsychological assessment to older people experiencing cognitive or behavioural change, and therapeutic intervention for older adults with a range of complex mental health problems. Although trained in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) Luke’s therapeutic approach is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT). He is committed to tailoring his approach to an individual’s goals and values and making treatment meaningful and highly effective for each individual.

Dr Marcia Castiel

Dr Marcia Castiel is a Clinical Neuropsychologist with extensive experience of working in the field of neurological disorders in both the NHS and private practice. Following her doctorate in Clinical Psychology, Marcia completed further specialist training in Neuropsychology and is on the Specialist Register of Clinical Neuropsychologists. She has also completed further training in a range of psychological therapies, including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. This allows Marcia to draw upon a number of therapeutic models when working with her clients to foster meaningful and positive change in their lives.

Marcia also delivers doctorate level teaching on neuropsychological issues at Newcastle University and published her doctorate research in ‘Neuropsychological Rehabilitation: An International Journal’.

Dr Catherine Hankinson

Catherine is a Clinical Psychologist who specialises in Clinical Neuropsychology. She has experience across the lifespan but has a special interest in working with children and adolescents with neurological conditions and brain injuries. She has extensive experience of neuropsychological assessment, formulation and intervention. She works collaboratively with families, schools and multi-disciplinary rehab teams placing the child or young person’s well being and quality of life at the centre of her work. She is interested in functional neurological conditions and is experienced in working with both children and adults with these conditions. She has published research in the area of child neurology and presented her doctoral research at international conferences. Catherine has additional training in clinical neuropsychology having completed a post graduate diploma in clinical neuropsychology at the University of Glasgow.

Jak Smith

Jak is a Psychological Therapist with specialist skills in Cognitive Analytic Therapy. At the heart of his work is a commitment to working collaboratively with clients and their families, through a relational approach that considers the person as a whole and as an individual. Jak is passionate about reducing stigma and unnecessary suffering, whilst promoting wellbeing. He brings a therapeutic approach that is warm and empathic to help individuals feel safe and comfortable during all aspects of his work.

Jak also uses his specialist skills to support teams in understanding the emotional impact of an individual’s difficulties and how this can impact on relationships. When providing team based formulation, Jak offers a safe reflective space to explore patterns in relationships and strategies to promote effective team working to meet the individuals needs.

Lisa Buckle

Lisa has been working as a Speech & Language Therapist since qualifying from Newcastle University in 2014. She specialises in Autism and has been working to support people with Autism in a range of settings for almost 8 years.

Lisa carries out formal and informal language assessments as well as clinical observations to identify an individual’s communication strengths and needs. She is passionate about supporting individuals and uses therapeutic approaches to support people in their speech, Language & communication.

Lisa is trained in Makaton at the enhanced level, the Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS) and has completed training in the use of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2).

She is committed to providing a high standard and takes pride in adapting her approach to fit the individual.

Dr Patrick Welsh

Patrick has worked with young people and adults with a diagnosis of Autism for over ten years in a range of clinical settings. He has completed training in the use of the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule, Second Edition (ADOS-2) and recently worked as a therapist on the personalised anxiety trial for autistic adults at Newcastle University. He is therefore experienced in making adaptations to ensure people are able to attend and engage in therapy.

Throughout his career, Patrick has been research active, publishing widely on topics such as autism, psychosis and how best to involve young people in mental health research. His research skills and knowledge thus compliment his clinical work.

As someone diagnosed with autism as an adult, he is passionate to ensure appropriate support is available to others.

Dr Clive Bellis

Dr Clive Bellis is a HCPC registered Chartered Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience of working across the lifespan both for the NHS and independent practice. Although adept at working with all age ranges, he has a particular interest in providing services to children and young people, particularly where a physical health condition is impacting upon quality of life.

Clive has completed specialist training in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Glasgow. He has comprehensive experience providing both neuropsychological and capacity assessments across the lifespan. He has a wide range of experience providing therapies. including EMDR which he regularly uses for those experiencing PTSD following traumatic injuries, and has acted within a Clinical Lead role on cases.

Clive contributes to doctoral level teaching at Teesside University.  He is committed to collaborative working and achieving the highest possible care for the individuals and families he is working with.

Toni Brown

Toni is a Practitioner Psychologist and Registered General Nurse. She has worked with both autistic children and adults for over 26 years in various settings, including charities in the northeast and London, schools, community and inpatient, providing both group and individual therapeutic input. Most recently her role was Clinical Lead in an NHS adult autism diagnostic team. Toni left the NHS after 20 years to concentrate on spending more time with a local charity. She has been part of the child and adult diagnostic service within the charity since it’s onset and continues to work for them as well as an associate with Clarity.

One of her roles within the NHS involved working on a research study in collaboration with Newcastle University exploring barriers and facilitators to accessing physical health care for older autistic adults.

Toni has recently completed training in Comprehensive Behavioural Intervention for Tics (CBIT) with Great Ormond Street and has a keen interest in tic disorders.

Dr Jen Mrozik

Jen is a Clinical Psychologist with extensive experience across the lifespan working with people who experience complex psychological difficulties. She has worked in a range of settings including inpatient and community, where she enjoys working with both individuals and teams, supporting people to make sense of various challenges and navigate change. She currently works in independent practice and in the NHS, in Children’s and Young People’s Services where she offers psychological support to young people with a diagnosis of Autism and their families. She also has extensive experience of working with adults with severe and enduring mental health difficulties.

Jen has a strong interest in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) having completed an additional CBT qualification at Southampton University following her doctorate training. She regularly applies and adapts psychological models within her clinical work through integrating and drawing on a range of evidence- based practices. Jen is committed to ensuring individuals can access the right support for their difficulties, at the right time and pace, when they need it.

Jen is dedicated to delivering compassionate, collaborative, high-quality care. She endeavours to support people to achieve realistic, meaningful and personal goals. She is committed to truly understanding what matters to the individual and provides a safe, kind and nurturing therapeutic approach. For Jen, it is vital to be alongside individuals every step of the way having strong personal values in fairness, equality and kindness.

Dr Chloe Geagan

Chloe has experience of working with individuals of all ages, however, has mostly worked with children and adolescents. She has a range of experience offering neuropsychology assessment and therapeutic support in paediatric settings in the NHS. Chloe particularly values working with young people with neurological conditions, neurodiversity, or learning difficulties. Sessions with young people often revolve around getting a clearer understanding of what difficulties they might be facing and how to best support them to do more of what they want to do. This includes working with the wider system around the young person, including parents/caregivers and schools, to ensure that support is person-centred and tailored to the individual.

Chloe is currently undertaking her specialist training in Paediatric Clinical Neuropsychology at University College London and is engaged in research alongside her clinical roles. She also contributes to post-graduate teaching and research at Newcastle University. Her therapeutic approach is drawn from Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), although she is also trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). Chloe is experienced in adapting these approaches to best meet the needs of the person she is working with.

Dr Sally Willis

Dr Sally Willis is a Clinical Psychologist with a range of experiencing working in neuropsychological services. She has worked across the life span with people with neurological conditions and brain injuries, in acute inpatient settings, neuro-rehabilitation, neuro-psychiatry and community services. She has a particular interest and passion for working with children and young people and their families.

Sally is currently enrolled at University College London, completing further specialist training in paediatric neuropsychology.

Sally is dedicated to putting the child or young person and their family at the centre of her work and values the importance of a positive therapeutic relationship. She draws on a number of therapeutic approaches creatively to ensure that she can work with others in a way that is accessible.

Dr Lisa Galloway

Lisa is a Clinical Psychologist who specialises in neuropsychology, completing the post graduate training in Clinical Neuropsychology at the University of Glasgow in 2014. She works within a busy NHS regional neuroscience centre, providing assessment, intervention, consultancy, training and clinical supervision. She is experienced in working with clients with a wide variety of neurological conditions, including TBI and neurodegenerative conditions. She provides neuropsychology teaching on the Newcastle University Doctorate in Clinical Psychology.

When working with clients and their families, Lisa places upmost importance on building a shared understanding of the difficulties they face in order to help them problem solve and move towards their goals. She is trained and experienced in CBT and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.
